Difference of younger and older pu-erh tea as a cholesterol reducing effects
Pu-erh teas have cholesterol-lowering properties that help lower the body's cholesterol levels. Older or more fermented pu-erh teas and teas made from older tea trees have more of this property.
In terms of specific products, we'd recommend the following:
- Everyday Ripe Pu-erh: a budget-friendly option that is aged for 11 years
- Menghai Old Tree Ripe Pu-erh (2009): aged 13 years and from old tea trees
- Bulang Ancient Tree Ripe Pu-erh (2018): younger, but the tea leaves are from ancient tea trees of at least 100-200 years old and an excellent terroir.
We'd say it'd take up to 3 cups of pu-erh tea per day for at least 3 months to see any result, but remember to consult your doctor first for medical advice.
