What materials do I need for the workshop?
Our workshops are meant to be enjoyable regardless of the type of teaware you have available at home.
You can find the list of materials gather before the workshop. Please note that there shouldn’t be any items on the list that you need to purchase for the workshop.
For Aged Tea 101, we recommend having the following list of items:
- The teayou received from Mansa Tea
- A kettle filled with water (to be boiled at the start of the class)
- 1 teacup (or regular cup)
- 1 set of teaware (i.e. Infuser, Gaiwan, teapots; 2 cups and a spoon if no teaware available)
- A bowl (to capture extra water)
- A tea towel (or any towel for drying)
- A scale (optional)
For Aged Tea Tasting, we recommend having the following list of items:
- The teas you received from Mansa Tea
- A kettle filled with water (we will start boiling the water at the start of the class)
- 3 teacups (English tea cups preferred over American mugs)
- 1-3 sets of teaware (i.e. Infuser, Gaiwan, teapots, empty teabags)
- A plate to save your tea leaves (if you are using one set of teaware)
- A bowl (to capture extra water)
- A tea towel (or any towel for drying)
- A scale (optional)
For Gaiwan Brewing Technique, we recommend having the following list of items:
- The Gaiwan and the tea you received
- A kettle filled with room temperature water (to be boiled at the start of the class)
- A cup of room temperature water (for brewing practice)
- A teacup (similar or larger in size than the Gaiwan)
- A bowl
- A tray (to contain any potential water spillages)
- A tea towel (or any towel for drying)
- A scale (optional)
For Cold Brew Technique, we recommend having the following list of items:
- Smoky Pu-erh (2015) (included in the kit)
- 3 empty tea bags (included in the kit)
- 3 of the same jars or wine glasses or pitchers (at least 250 mL or 8 fl oz in size)*
- 3 coasters or lids to cover the jars / glasses / pitchers
- Room temperature water
- A kettle filled with room temperature water
- A scale (optional)
